In a pre‑dawn raid, the Joint Task Force (JTF) stormed a residential building in the Haye area of Hotoro Arewa, Nasarawa Local Government Area, Kano State. The two‑bedroom block of flats, converted into a sophisticated bomb‑making factory, was taken without resistance. Two housewives and several children were rescued from the site. A number of suspects were arrested, but the principal target escaped before the operation. Items recovered included assorted improvised explosive devices (IEDs), a primed drum, assorted containers, liquid substances, charcoal, and a video titled “Osama bin Laden dead at last”.

An intelligence-led raid by security forces on a suspected Boko Haram leader‘s house in the Darmanawa area of Kano escalated into a fierce gun battle when the suspect, Mohammed Aliyu (alias Hamza), realised his property was under police surveillance and mobilised his cell to attack the officers. The shootout, which occurred at Darmanawa Quarters, Ungwan Uku, resulted in the deaths of three police officers and four Boko Haram members. A police reinforcement officer was also wounded. Aliyu was later captured at a city checkpoint, and 14 other suspects were arrested. Following the raid, police uncovered a mini bomb factory at the location, seizing a vehicle loaded with explosives, seven rifles (including four AK-47s), 1,125 rounds of ammunition, 19 bags of ammonium nitrate, gas cylinders, detonators, and chemicals used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
In a brief but decisive urban confrontation, gunmen on a motorcycle suspected to be members of Boko Haram engaged a military patrol in a shootout in the town of Song, Adamawa State.
