The Adamawa State Government expressed shock at the scale of the destruction in a town previously considered relatively safe. The military Joint Task Force (JTF) deployed reinforcements from Mubi to secure the area, but the mountainous terrain favored the insurgents' escape. Following the raid, security forces discovered a cache of unexploded IEDs and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) near the burnt secretariat.

In a high-intensity daylight engagement, Boko Haram insurgents launched a direct assault on a military checkpoint in the Ajilari-Railway Cross suburb of Maiduguri. Two soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force (JTF) who were stationed at the checkpoint were shot dead by the gunmen, who arrived on tricycles and opened fire with AK-47 rifles. The insurgents attempted to escape in a Volkswagen Golf car but were pursued by JTF soldiers. In the ensuing pursuit, the vehicle crashed, and four of the attackers were killed by security forces. A large quantity of arms and ammunition, including 14 AK-47 rifles, were recovered from the vehicle. The JTF field operations commander initially denied any soldier deaths, but independent sources confirmed the fatalities.
ISWAP militants attacked the predominantly Christian village of Kilangal in Askira-Uba LGA. The attackers struck shortly after residents were leaving church worship services, killing 12 civilians, injuring three others, and burning down nine houses. The village reportedly faced no military resistance during the assault.
At approximately 1 am, a group of Bandits breached the perimeter fence of the Permanent Site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Afaka, Kaduna State, wearing Nigerian Army uniforms to avoid suspicion. The attackers, who arrived in a single vehicle, drove unchallenged past the main security gate, passing through areas equipped with CCTV cameras. After entering, they ransacked about five flats in the officers' quarters, engaged in sporadic shooting, and killed two senior military officers. They also abducted another officer, Major Christopher Datong, forcing him through the nearby bush. The third officer taken (a lieutenant) was killed by the Bandits. Four other officers were injured during the attack. The gunmen escaped before the NDA Quick Response Team could arrive at the scene.
