Alhaji Abubakar Abdulkadir, Caretaker Chairman of Magumeri LGA, confirmed the attack and stated: "Five people were slaughtered, including the Chief Imam of Kurmiri village. We regret this attack and we pray Allah grant Aljanul Firduas to the souls of the deceased." He commended security forces for apprehending one attacker.

In the early hours of Tuesday, at approximately 1 am to 2 am, dozens of gunmen believed to be armed Fulani herdsmen stormed the Abagena Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, located on the Makurdi-Lafia road in Benue State. The attackers, armed with AK‑47 rifles, cutlasses, and other weapons, invaded the camp, shooting sporadically, hacking and butchering anyone they caught. They set fires, ransacked shelters, and looted belongings. The assailants operated for nearly two hours without resistance, having positioned themselves to block escape routes. The attack resulted in at least seven fatalities and nine injuries. Angered by the killings, youths and IDPs blocked the Makurdi-Lafia highway with the corpses of the victims, bringing traffic to a halt for several hours.
Nine Boko Haram insurgents arrived on motorcycles and attacked farmers working in their fields with machetes. The attackers also carried rifles but did not use them, likely to avoid alerting the military stationed nearby. Residents reported that farmers were preparing their fields for the rainy season after being assured by authorities they could farm this year. Following the attack, a local militia (Civilian JTF) pursued the insurgents to Sojori village, killing four of them, while the rest escaped.
Armed Boko Haram insurgents stormed Amarwa village in a nighttime raid. The attackers shot indiscriminately at villagers and set fire to homes. According to militia leader Ibrahim Liman, two residents were shot dead, and two others died from smoke inhalation or burns after being trapped in burning houses.
