Boko Haram insurgents attacked Kala village on Sunday night. They set one person ablaze, killing him, and injured another man. The attackers also burned down some houses in the village. The attack occurred just one day after the Nigerian Army declared that Boko Haram had been completely defeated in the Sambisa Forest

Mr Bello Dambatta, Head of SEMA Rapid Response Team, confirmed the attack in a telephone interview. He stated that officials were already at the scene and the injured victim had been evacuated to Maiduguri Specialist Hospital.
