Two female suicide bombers riding in motorized rickshaws (Keke NAPEP) launched coordinated attacks. The first bomber targeted the Bakassi IDP camp, detonating her explosives at the entrance as residents were leaving the camp, killing five men and injuring 11 women . The second bomber, also in a rickshaw, approached the NNPC fuel station following a fuel tanker "with the sole aim of gaining entry to cause maximum damage and casualty" but was prevented from entering the station by another vehicle; she detonated at the entrance, killing herself and the two other occupants of the rickshaw.
Four suicide bombers carried out coordinated attacks on two neighboring villages in Borno State, according to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The incident occurred in two phases. In the first phase, at approximately 11:00 p.m. in Mainari Shuwa, a female suicide bomber entered a residential home and detonated an improvised explosive device (IED), killing three persons and injuring nine others.
