Boko Haram insurgents launched a deadly and sophisticated attack on Geidam town. A significant part of the operation involved a direct assault on a hotel (popularly known as 'Kwari' ), located in the eastern part of the town. Witnesses said the insurgents moved in silence, setting the Government Science and Technical School (GSTC) Geidam ablaze and killing one person at the school's quarters. They proceeded to 'Kwari' and killed at least 10 people. A prominent bar in the town was also attacked
