Local hunters were on patrol after receiving an alert that Boko Haram insurgents had rustled cattle from communities in Jere LGA. Their vehicle hit a landmine planted by the insurgents. As they called for backup, a second vehicle carrying about 20 hunters hit another landmine while pursuing the fleeing insurgents. The explosions killed seven hunters and injured 19 others.

A bomb exploded at a roadside market in Kawuri village. The attack occurred in the evening around 8:00 p.m. at a tea shop where locals had gathered for night-time socializing.

Two men in a sedan attempted to throw a bomb at soldiers stationed at a military post in the West‑End area of Maiduguri. The device detonated prematurely, killing the would‑be bomber. His accomplice fled, abandoning the car. Immediately after the blast, soldiers reportedly exchanged fire with unidentified gunmen and then stormed through the surrounding residential neighbourhood, allegedly shooting indiscriminately and setting homes on fire.
