At approximately 5:30 pm on Tuesday, dozens of Boko Haram insurgents (with some reports indicating a joint operation by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters) attacked Geidam town, the headquarters of Geidam LGA in Yobe State, near the Nigerian border with the Niger Republic. The attackers drove into the town through the Geidam Mane Shuwa Road (also known as the Geidam-Maine Sorowa road) and operated for about two hours. They broke into shops and drug stores, looting foodstuffs and large quantities of drugs, and burnt down an ambulance belonging to the general hospital. The insurgents specifically targeted a checkpoint on the Maine Sorowa road, where they abducted three officers of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) who had recently been posted to Yobe from Bauchi State. One of the abducted officers, Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) Jimoh Folowosele, was later identified by his family as being held in captivity for over two weeks. A fourth abduction was initially reported by some sources as two or three personnel having been kidnapped, with varying numbers in different accounts. No civilian fatalities were recorded.

Eight Boko Haram insurgents, armed with guns and riding on four motorcycles, attacked the village of Kuburubu at dawn. The assailants entered homes while the residents were asleep, resulting in the deaths of six people and the abduction of 13 others, which included seven women, five teenage boys, and one teenage girl. Many others were left wounded as the attackers fled into the bush with their captives.

Boko Haram insurgents launched a brazen attack on a Nigeria Customs Service office in Geidam town, Yobe State. The assailants arrived in a Volkswagen Golf and a Land Rover, with some also on motorbikes, storming the Customs house located along the Maine Soroa Road. They began firing indiscriminately, and some witnesses reported they were shouting “Allahu Akbar” as they attacked. The Customs officers, taken by surprise after many had retired for the night, scrambled for safety—some escaping through the gate, while others scaled the fence. In the chaos, one officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs II Ahmed Usman (also referred to as Usman Gombe), was shot dead while trying to climb the fence. The attackers also set fire to a Customs patrol van, a generator, and part of the office building. However, timely reinforcement from the Nigerian Army helped security personnel repel the assault and prevent further casualties.

Gunmen attacked Danda community, killing eight people and injuring one. The assault was reportedly intended to frighten residents into relocating, thereby enabling militia occupation of the land.
