Gunmen struck Awi community in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, abducting three Fulani women

At about 7:00 pm, gunmen ambushed a group of miners heading to mining sites in the Uwok-Ishe community of Kakkek District, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. The victims were travelling on two motorcycles—three persons on each—when the attackers ambushed them . Four persons were killed instantly, and two others sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for treatment . The victims included members of both the Rukuba (Bache) and Fulani ethnic groups. Dauda Aku, Youth President of the Bache ethnic group, confirmed that among the dead were two members of his group and two Fulani individuals, while one Fulani individual was among the injured

A large contingent of gunmen, numbering between 100 and 200, stormed Yelewata town in Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, in a coordinated overnight assault. The attackers, armed with AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated weapons, laid siege to the community for over two hours, firing indiscriminately, breaking into homes, and setting shelters ablaze. Many victims were internally displaced persons (IDPs) who had sought refuge in Yelewata market stalls and shops, fleeing earlier attacks in surrounding communities. The attackers reportedly poured petrol on shelters before setting them on fire, burning victims alive.
