Militants from ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, ambushed Nigerian soldiers in Gubio LGA, Borno State. A yet-to-be-confirmed number of soldiers were killed, and several others went missing.

Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on a farm near the town of Bama in Borno State. The businessman, Kellum Alhaji‑Gana (also known as Alhaji Gana), a resident of Maiduguri, had traveled to the farm early that morning to supervise the harvest of beans. Shortly after arriving, the assailants stormed the farm, surrounded the workers, and attempted to abduct them. A family source reported, “The gunmen invaded the farm, rounded up the workers, and attempted to kidnap them. Alhaji Gana, who reportedly resisted the assailants, got shot.” Nearby farmers witnessed Alhaji‑Gana grappling with the gunmen; he initially appeared to overpower them due to his large stature before the attackers retreated and opened fire, killing him. The assailants then abducted four of his co‑workers and fled, leaving Alhaji‑Gana’s body at the farm.

ISWAP insurgents launched an attack on a military location in Monguno, resulting in an exchange of gunfire with security forces. The attackers were repelled after an overnight battle. During the clash, stray bullets killed five civilians and injured many others.

A gun battle near a mosque in Kano city and two other shootings left at least eight people dead. The deadliest incident occurred when gunmen opened fire around a mosque during Ramadan prayers, where a police team had been deployed to protect worshippers. Police exchanged fire with the attackers; one assailant was killed when his own explosive device detonated, while three other gunmen were shot dead. Among the victims were two Nigerian Air Force personnel. Civilians also fled in panic during the clashes.
