Seven gunmen attacked the Bauchi home of Mr. Zakka Magaji, Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs to Governor Bala Mohammed, around 1:00 am. The aide was unhurt, but one person in the residence sustained injuries and was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital. The attack is perceived as targeted because of Magaji’s Christian identity.

Fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) raided a military base in the town of Buni Gari, Gujba Local Government Area, Yobe State, approximately 60 kilometres (37 miles) from the state capital Damaturu. The terrorists arrived on several trucks armed with heavy guns and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), attacking the base in a fierce gun battle. They killed at least 11 soldiers, seized weapons, burned down the base, and destroyed several military vehicles and buildings. Videos of the aftermath viewed by an AFP reporter showed the charred remains of an armoured military vehicle, burning military trucks, and the decapitated body of one soldier lying on the dusty ground with its severed head beside it.

Armed gunmen, suspected to be Fulani militias, stormed a local mining site in the Atoso village (sometimes referred to as Tosho or Ratoso) within the Fan District of Barkin Ladi. The attackers opened fire indiscriminately on miners who were working a night shift. The assault was described by community leaders as unprovoked, resulting in a high death toll and several abductions. Survivors reported hearing the attackers speaking in a language associated with herder militias.

Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on a farm near the town of Bama in Borno State. The businessman, Kellum Alhaji‑Gana (also known as Alhaji Gana), a resident of Maiduguri, had traveled to the farm early that morning to supervise the harvest of beans. Shortly after arriving, the assailants stormed the farm, surrounded the workers, and attempted to abduct them. A family source reported, “The gunmen invaded the farm, rounded up the workers, and attempted to kidnap them. Alhaji Gana, who reportedly resisted the assailants, got shot.” Nearby farmers witnessed Alhaji‑Gana grappling with the gunmen; he initially appeared to overpower them due to his large stature before the attackers retreated and opened fire, killing him. The assailants then abducted four of his co‑workers and fled, leaving Alhaji‑Gana’s body at the farm.
