A group of heavily armed men, suspected to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), attacked the Kwari neighborhood. The assault began at a local nightclub, where the terrorists opened fire sporadically, killing several partygoers. After the initial club attack, the assailants moved into the surrounding residential area, where they burned houses, vehicles, and a church, and shot residents, including the local pastor of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), as he tried to escape.

A group of about 10 heavily armed Boko Haram insurgents carried out a coordinated, simultaneous assault on a police station and a commercial bank in Kankara, Katsina State. The attackers, disguised to blend in and chanting “Allahu Akbar” throughout the operation, split into two groups. The group targeting the divisional police station engaged in a fierce gun battle, killing five policemen (including three at the station and two during the bank robbery), set free suspects from cells, and stole weapons and ammunition from the armoury before setting off a bomb that reduced the police station to rubble. Simultaneously, the second group used a bomb to blast through the electronic door of a bank along the same road, shot dead two policemen and a security guard, and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. A bystander who attempted to pick up some of the stolen cash that fell from the fleeing attackers’ bag was also shot dead. Seven people died in total: five police officers and two civilian bystanders.

At approximately 7 am on Sunday, a large group of bandits on motorcycles (reportedly over 30) attacked worshippers and locals in the Rubu general area of Kajuru LGA, Kaduna State, beginning from Ungwan Fada, moving into Ungwan Turawa, then Ungwan Makama, and finally Rubu village. In Rubu, the bandits attacked the Maranatha Baptist Church and St. Moses Catholic Church, firing indiscriminately as worshippers gathered for early morning services. The attacks resulted in three deaths—Peter Madaki (Ward Head of Ungwan Fada), Elisha Ezekiel (Resident of Ungwan Fada), and Ali Zamani (Youth Leader of Rubu)—and two injuries: Aniro Mai and an unidentified woman. An unspecified number of worshippers and locals were abducted, with reports indicating over 30 people taken. The attackers looted shops and carted away valuables. A female worshipper had one of her ears cut off by the attackers.

In a well-coordinated surprise attack during the early morning hours, heavily armed Boko Haram militants surrounded and assaulted the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) base. The insurgents used "sophisticated weapons," gunfire, and explosives, initially overwhelming the soldiers. While the military claimed to have repelled the attack, subsequent reports indicated that the insurgents overran the camp, forced a tactical retreat, and seized weaponry.
