NAF fighter jets, conducting an operation against the newly emerged Lakurawa terrorist group near the Surame Forest, mistakenly bombed the residential communities of Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa. The military initially attributed the civilian deaths to "secondary explosions" from terrorist stockpiles, but local reports and state officials confirmed direct hits on residential homes and grain silos.

Terrorists invaded Gidan Kwairo village, triggering a swift response from troops of the 17 Brigade, who were operating alongside local vigilantes and Keystone operatives. The joint security team engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to flee the village. During the engagement, the terrorists abandoned five kidnapped victims, who were subsequently rescued by the troops. One local resident was killed by the assailants, and another sustained gunshot injuries. The injured victim was evacuated to Malumfashi General Hospital for treatment.

After Bandits raided their community, residents of Bimasa mobilized into a search party and tracked the attackers into a nearby forest. Armed primarily with locally made weapons, they engaged the Bandits in a fierce, direct confrontation. The community successfully killed six of the Bandits, rescued several kidnapped relatives, and recovered stolen cattle. Furthermore, they captured one of the attackers alive and paraded him in the village.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, armed Bandits mounted a roadblock along the Adoka Road in Otukpo LGA to intercept commercial and private vehicles. The Benue State Police Command, acting on distress calls, deployed patrol operatives and tactical squads to the scene. A fierce gun battle ensued between the security forces and the Bandits. The superior firepower of the police forced the assailants to retreat into the nearby forest, abandoning several passengers who had been stranded or were about to be abducted.
