At about 7:00 pm, gunmen ambushed a group of miners heading to mining sites in the Uwok-Ishe community of Kakkek District, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. The victims were travelling on two motorcycles—three persons on each—when the attackers ambushed them . Four persons were killed instantly, and two others sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for treatment . The victims included members of both the Rukuba (Bache) and Fulani ethnic groups.
