Hundreds of ISWAP fighters in a convoy of more than 20 gun trucks and several motorcycles stormed Rann, a town that housed tens of thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The attack began around 5:00 p.m. and lasted for several hours. The militants targeted a military base, a police station, and a humanitarian hub. They also went house-to-house, shooting residents and setting buildings ablaze. The attackers stole food supplies, medical supplies, and vehicles from humanitarian organizations before withdrawing. The attack forced thousands of residents and aid workers to flee into the surrounding bush or across the border into Cameroon.
Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists launched a deadly attack on Tunbun Rogo, a fishing village in the Kukawa LGA of Borno State.
