The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the multiple attacks. The Edu LGA Chairman stated that the Bandits operated for hours without interception, calling for a permanent military post in the district. Attempts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, for comment were unsuccessful; she neither answered phone calls nor responded to text messages . The Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu Kawu, visited affected communities on July 8, 2025, to commiserate with victims, touring Guye Dadi, Guye Doko, Kpotunko, Bussa/Shaaban/Cheko, Gamalegi, Gbugbu, Ekko, Edogi, and Bongifu communities . The Kwara State Government subsequently launched a security crackdown, arresting over 15 criminals including a notorious Bandits leader, Tambaya, who was identified as a mastermind of recent attacks; N11 million was recovered .
