Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, who was on an official assignment outside the country, sent a high-powered delegation led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs, Hon. Sugun Mai Mele, to condole with the victims . Cash support of ₦500,000 was presented to each bereaved family, and ₦250,000 to each of the four injured victims . The governor announced the deployment of excavators to dig trenches around the local government headquarters to fortify the town against future Boko Haram/ISWAP attacks . A stern warning was issued against any form of collaboration with insurgents . Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, announced plans to resettle an additional 3,000 households in Malam Fatori, bringing the total number of resettled families to 5,000 (2,000 already resettled previously) .

ISWAP fighters in several pickup trucks fitted with machine guns attacked Nigerian and Chadian troops stationed in Gajiram. Local hunters assisted the security forces in repelling the attack. During the battle, the defenders fired a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) that struck one of the insurgent vehicles, destroying it and killing all fighters on board. The remaining militants fled. Eight people were killed in the attack: a policeman, a local hunter, and six residents.
Suspected Boko Haram militants launched a coordinated assault on Shuwa village in Madagali Local Government Area. The primary target was the Shuwa Divisional Police Station, which was attacked with locally made Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and automatic weapons at about 8 pm. The assailants reportedly pretended to lodge a complaint before opening fire, taking the personnel by surprise. Three police corporals were killed (conflicting accounts: the police commissioner later stated 3 killed, while some residents reported seeing two dead bodies) and at least fourothers injured, including an inspector. The attackers looted the armoury, carting away all the arms and ammunition.
In a coordinated multi-target assault, Boko Haram insurgents attacked a divisional police station and two commercial banks in Saminaka, a key town on the road between Kaduna and Jos. The attackers used IEDs to breach the security of the banks and the police station, engaging in a firefight to suppress local law enforcement while they looted the financial institutions.
