A gunfight broke out at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Damaturu, capital of Yobe State. Military personnel had brought in a wounded Boko Haram suspect for treatment when militants attacked the hospital gate. The battle quickly spread to other parts of the city, including the governor‘s residence. For several hours, the insurgents, armed with automatic rifles and explosive devices, engaged the Joint Task Force (JTF) “Operation Restore Order” in a fierce, citywide confrontation. Police and military reinforcements were brought in to contain the violence, which spilled over into the following day and left dozens dead. At least 20 civilians and five security personnel (three policemen and two soldiers) were killed according to the Red Cross, while a hospital official counted 34 bodies in the morgue and gave a final toll of 43 dead.
A large group of Bandits on motorcycles attacked Gidan Shaho, a community located about five kilometers from the Zurmi LGA headquarters in Zamfara State. The assailants surrounded the village and, in a "well-planned" operation, went from house to house, specifically selecting their targets. They proceeded to burn local grain silos, houses, and shops. During the raid, Mande (aged 50) was shot dead, and Dodo Roba (aged 60) sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to the General Hospital in Zurmi for treatment. The attack lasted for approximately two hours. The attackers also abducted several residents
Fighters first attacked Kofa, opening fire indiscriminately on fleeing residents. They then moved to nearby Bulaburin, where they gunned down residents, stole food supplies, and burned the village. Simultaneously, they attacked Dalori 2 IDP camp, engaging troops and civilian militia in a shootout before overrunning the facility, firing rocket-propelled grenades, and burning half the camp.
