At approximately 2:00 am, dozens of heavily armed Bandits in large numbers breached the security of Bethel Baptist High School in Damishi, Chikun LGA, Kaduna State. They broke through the fence, overpowered the school’s security guards, and moved systematically to the boys‘ and girls’ hostels, shooting sporadically to create panic before herding a large group of students into the nearby forest via a bus belonging to a parent. At least 140 students were missing after the attack. Police spokesman Mohammed Jalige confirmed the attack, stating that the Bandits “overpowered the school’s security guards and made their way into the students hostel where they abducted an unspecified number of students into the forest”.
Gunmen stormed a residence in Tella village, Taraba State, housing foreign construction workers employed by Triacta Engineering Firm. The attackers opened fire, killing two police guards assigned to protect the expatriates.
