Armed Bandits, suspected to be linked to insurgent cells, launched a pre-dawn assault on a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) nipping point (outpost) located at Ibrahim Leteh Village along the strategic Wawa–Luma Road in Borgu LGA, Niger. The assailants stormed the outpost in large numbers and opened fire, forcing two NSCDC personnel on duty to take cover as the attackers riddled the patrol vehicle and the small office structure with bullets. During the attack, the Bandits made away with one G3 rifle officially assigned to an NSCDC operative. No casualties were recorded, and the personnel escaped unharmed.
Gunmen abducted a woman and her daughter in Yarmariya, Tudun Wada LGA, Kano State, and injured a teenage boy.
A member of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard was killed in an ambush by armed men on the Uikpam–Umenger road in Guma Local Government Area. The joint patrol team of military personnel and the Civil Protection Guard was ambushed by gunmen suspected to be armed herders. The victim, Terna Ioryoosu of Umenger village, was shot dead. Security operatives were mobilised to the scene; the corpse was recovered, photographed and later released to family members.
