Armed Bandits attacked Makauwachi village in Safana LGA, Katsina State, killing 19 residents. The attack was part of a larger, coordinated assault on multiple villages across Danmusa, Dutsinma, and Safana LGAs between 12:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., which killed a total of 47 people. According to police spokesman SP Gambo Isah, the violence escalated after a local Yan Sakai vigilante group "started setting ablaze some Fulani settlements at Aibon Mangwaro village" following an initial repelled attack on Kurechi village. The attackers then launched "organised and simultaneous attacks" on six villages, with Makauwachi suffering the highest single-village death toll of 19 .
