Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA repelled a Bandits attack in Tashar Gemu and Unguwar Gambo, Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State. Six people sustained injuries during the clash.

Acting on intelligence that a Boko Haram cell which had attacked a police station and a bank in Tudun Wada town would attempt to flee to Kano city, the Joint Task Force (JTF) laid an ambush at the main entry point to the town. The JTF blocked the major exit routes and engaged the fleeing gunmen in a fierce gun battle. The operation resulted in the deaths of nine suspected Boko Haram militants and the capture of two others alive. The military recovered a cache of weapons stolen from the police station, including two AK‑47 rifles, three pistols, two short guns, one long‑range rifle, 29 magazines, police uniforms and assorted ID cards. The army also recovered and destroyed three vehicles used by the insurgents.

The Nigerian Army, through its spokesman Brigadier-General Sani Usman, announced a ₦3 million cash reward for "credible information" leading to the arrest of Abubakar Shekau. This came just 48 hours after the military claimed Shekau was "on the run for his dear life" following the bombardment of his hideouts in the Sambisa Forest (Camp Zairo).

In a brief but decisive urban confrontation, gunmen on a motorcycle suspected to be members of Boko Haram engaged a military patrol in a shootout in the town of Song, Adamawa State. The soldiers, part of “Operation Tsaro”, shot down the two motorcyclists. One of the suspects was killed instantly, while the other was injured and captured. The suspects were armed with an AK‑47 rifle and two magazines loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition.
