A dispute over grazing land in Muva village, Askira/Uba LGA, escalated into deadly violence. Alhaji Usman, 32, who was grazing his cattle, had an altercation with Jauro Ishaya, 43, of the same village over access to grazing land. During the confrontation, Jauro Ishaya allegedly fired a locally made double‑barrel gun, hitting Alhaji Usman in the stomach. The victim was evacuated to General Hospital Askira but was certified dead on arrival. The suspect was arrested, and efforts are ongoing to recover the firearm. The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Maiduguri.
