Bandits attacked Giwa community in Chikun LGA, Kaduna State, killing five residents and kidnapping two others despite Governor Sani’s peace model initiative.

Bandits attacked Zurmi LGA, Zamfara State, killing two community policing members and stealing their firearms.

A large group of armed Bandits ambushed a convoy of troops and traders along the Lilo–Gulubba Road in Gusau LGA. The troops were escorting traders from Lilo village to the Gusau market when the attackers, who had laid in wait, emerged from hiding and opened fire on the convoy. A fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers (three killed instantly, two later dying from critical wounds) and ten villagers who were travelling as traders. Scores of Bandits were also neutralised during the firefight, though an exact figure was not released. Several passengers were injured and rushed to the General Hospital, Kotorkoshi. The attackers eventually retreated into their forest hideouts after suffering heavy casualties.
