An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated at the All Christian Fellowship Mission church in Suleja, Niger. The blast occurred at approximately 2:00 pm local time, just as worshippers were leaving the Sunday service and a church committee meeting was underway inside the building. A neighbour reported that a bomb was thrown into the church from a passing motorcycle, causing the explosion. The explosion shattered windows and damaged a neighbouring house. Three people were killed, and at least seven others were injured. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but it was widely attributed to Boko Haram.
A major religious riot erupted at the College of Education in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, following a Christian religious revival. A pastor with a Muslim background made remarks about the Koran that were considered offensive by some Muslim students.
