Gunmen kill one, injure another in Bokkos, Plateau

Gunmen attacked Barkin Ladi community in Plateau State, killing one resident and abducting two others.

In a high-intensity daylight engagement, Boko Haram insurgents launched a direct assault on a military checkpoint in the Ajilari-Railway Cross suburb of Maiduguri. Two soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force (JTF) who were stationed at the checkpoint were shot dead by the gunmen, who arrived on tricycles and opened fire with AK-47 rifles. The insurgents attempted to escape in a Volkswagen Golf car but were pursued by JTF soldiers. In the ensuing pursuit, the vehicle crashed, and four of the attackers were killed by security forces. A large quantity of arms and ammunition, including 14 AK-47 rifles, were recovered from the vehicle. The JTF field operations commander initially denied any soldier deaths, but independent sources confirmed the fatalities.

A squad of Boko Haram terrorists riding on motorcycles and in vans opened fire on a large group of people returning to Badu Kuluwu after attending a funeral in Goni Abachari.
