A member of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard was killed in an ambush by armed men on the Uikpam–Umenger road in Guma Local Government Area. The joint patrol team of military personnel and the Civil Protection Guard was ambushed by gunmen suspected to be armed herders. The victim, Terna Ioryoosu of Umenger village, was shot dead. Security operatives were mobilised to the scene; the corpse was recovered, photographed and later released to family members.
