Response
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Bokkos led patrol teams to the scene after a distress call. The injured were taken to a nearby clinic for treatment. Security sources said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the attackers.

In the early hours of the morning, Boko Haram gunmen arrived on ten motorcycles and attacked Wumbi village. They opened fire indiscriminately, startling residents from their sleep, and then set homes ablaze while looting food supplies. The assault resulted in the deaths of two civilians and compelled hundreds of residents to flee across the river into neighboring Cameroon.
