On Monday, a violent confrontation erupted between officials of the Niger State Traffic Management Agency (NISTMA) and some youths at Kasuwan Gwari market in Minna, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State. The clash began when NISTMA officials intercepted a motorcyclist alleged to be conveying vandalised iron. During the interrogation, a scuffle broke out, prompting the intervention of policemen on patrol. A group of youths, said to be scavengers, mobilised and attacked both the NISTMA officials and the policemen. In the ensuing violence, one person was killed, and another injured. The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that reinforcements were quickly deployed to restore order. "Minimum force was used against the riotous assembly, the road was cleared, and over 10 suspects were arrested from the scene. They are currently under investigation," Abiodun said.

At approximately 7:30 pm, a group of armed men stormed the Deeper Life Bible Church in the Nasarawo (also referred to as Yelanguruza or Boso) area of Gombe city, Gombe State.
