Children of a supporter of Gov. Zulum were killed in Maiduguri after criticizing political cabals and politicians.

Around 30 suspected Boko Haram gunmen (about 20 active shooters, supported by others) attacked Government Secondary School in Mamudo at approximately 3:00–5:00 a.m., dousing a dormitory in petrol and lighting it ablaze while students slept. They threw explosives, opened fire, and shot fleeing students, then torched the administrative block. The attackers arrived in two vehicles (a pick‑up and a sedan) and searched for the school principal, Abdulkadir Umar, who had fled. An English teacher, Mohammed Musa, was shot dead in his home. Survivors — some burned, others with gunshot wounds — were treated at Potiskum General Hospital. At least 20 bodies were so charred they could not be immediately identified. Gunmen suspected of being Boko Haram members were responsible.

Heavily armed gunmen (estimated 40) in vehicles and on motorcycles attacked government buildings, opening fire and using explosives. They burned the police station, a satellite prison, a court, a local education authority building, the Government Lodge, and partially torched the traditional chief's palace. At approximately 1 am, a group of Bandits breached the perimeter fence of the Permanent Site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Afaka, Kaduna State, wearing Nigerian Army uniforms to avoid suspicion. The attackers, who arrived in a single vehicle, drove unchallenged past the main security gate, passing through areas equipped with CCTV cameras. After entering, they ransacked about five flats in the officers' quarters, engaged in sporadic shooting, and killed two senior military officers. They also abducted another officer, Major Christopher Datong, forcing him through the nearby bush. The third officer taken (a lieutenant) was killed by the Bandits. Four other officers were injured during the attack. The gunmen escaped before the NDA Quick Response Team could arrive at the scene.
