A military Forward Operating Base (FOB) was alerted. A combined team of the military, Police EOD-CBRN, police patrol team, CJTF, and hunters visited the scene, cordoned off the area, searched for other devices, and rendered the area safe. No other unexploded devices were found. The victim's body was released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites, and security was reinforced in the area.

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members attacked a gum arabic factory in the Zajeri Industrial Area of Maiduguri. The assailants stormed the premises around 1:00 PM, demanded money from the Indian expatriate workers, and then opened fire. The attack killed two Indian nationals and injured three others.
