A group of armed Bandits/terrorists ambushed a convoy of traders along the Koro–Egbe route, a rural corridor connecting Koro in Ekiti LGA (Kwara State) to Egbe in Yagba West LGA (Kogi ). The traders were travelling to the weekly Ebu Market Day when the attackers intercepted multiple vehicles, forced passengers out at gunpoint, and marched an unspecified number of traders into the surrounding forest.
