The Chairman of Patigi Local Government, Hon. Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the incident and stated that local vigilantes and hunters had immediately mobilised into the bush to rescue the abducted village head . A senior police officer with the Patigi Divisional Police Office confirmed the incident, stating that the state police command had been informed . Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq met with stakeholders from Edu and Patigi LGAs to address insecurity and disclosed plans to establish a homegrown community security structure as a first line of defence to complement the National Forest Guards .
