In a pre‑dawn, multi‑target raid, about 30 heavily armed Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Dikwa Divisional Police Station, a branch of Unity Bank, the Freedom Hotel, and attempted to set fire to the Dikwa Local Government Council Secretariat. The attackers, who arrived in multiple vehicles and on motorcycles, used explosives to breach the police station and engaged security forces in a sustained gun battle. The station was set ablaze, and the bank and hotel were also torched. During the raid, the gunmen killed a Police Inspector, the former Chairman of Dikwa Local Government Council, and Alhaji Babagana Ali Karim. The Joint Task Force (JTF) and police jointly engaged the attackers, killing three of them and forcing the others to retreat toward the Marsa and Ngala axes with gunshot wounds.
