A female Christian student of the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Kazaure, Jigawa State, allegedly insulted the Prophet Muhammad during an argument with Muslim classmates. Tensions simmered for over a month as some Muslims publicly called for the student to be punished. On the evening of 18 November, a group of youths marched on the school to demand she be handed over. Anti-riot police and the Emir of Kazaure arrived to prevent mob justice, but a policeman fired a shot, dispersing the crowd. The youths then went on a rampage, burning churches, homes, and shops. The violence, which lasted several hours, was contained by police.
Armed Fulani militants carried out simultaneous evening raids on Kai Village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State. The attackers, described as Muslim Fulani youth, targeted a single family, killing five members. The victims were identified as Martha, Philip, Bitrus, Kasiah, and Amazie, all members of the Iliya (also referred to as Bitrus) family. According to a police bulletin, nothing was stolen or destroyed, and the attackers fled before security personnel could arrive.
