At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday, heavily armed bandits surrounded the mosque in Gidan Turbe village, Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, as worshippers were performing dawn prayers. The gunmen waited until the prayers were concluded, then forced an estimated 43 worshippers out at gunpoint and marched them into the forest around the Gohori axis. The attack occurred less than a month after a peace agreement was signed between community leaders and bandits in Kurfi LGA, Katsina State, on 28 August 2025.
