In a daring operation targeting the Presidency’s inner circle, Alhaji Musa Umar, the Magajin Garin Daura, was abducted from his home when six gunmen arrived in an unregistered blue Peugeot 406 shortly after Maghrib prayer, fired into the air to disperse bystanders, and forced him into the vehicle before fleeing.
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed Abdulmalik Tukur, a 32-year-old graduate of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, after collecting ₦500,000 ransom. The victim had recently completed his NYSC service year in Plateau State and had just returned to his father’s house in Vinikilang community, outskirts of Yola.
A group of heavily armed gunmen, reported to be about eight in number and carrying AK-47 rifles, stormed the palace of Oba James Dada Ogunyanda in Okoloke community, Yagba West LGA, at approximately 2:00 a.m. . The assailants fired shots to scare off vigilantes before forcing their way into the palace and abducting the 97-year-old monarch.
