Unidentified gunmen launched a violent assault on the official residence of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Aujara town, Jahun Local Government Area, Jigawa State. The attackers engaged police personnel on guard duty in a gunfight. Police Constable Nura Garba Jahun was fatally shot, and another officer sustained serious injuries. Both victims were rushed to Jahun General Hospital, where Constable Garba was pronounced dead. The deceased was later buried according to Islamic rites.
